Cage of Darkness (Reign of Secrets #2) by Jennifer Anne Davis

Rating: 5/5 stars

Summary: Allyssa and Odar, formerly Jarvik, have found themselves in quite a sticky situation. The assassin has them captured for his own mysterious plans. As they try to escape, identities and personalities are thrown backwards and all which ways. Plans and promises are made and then suddenly turned on its head. Everything and everyone has their own agenda, and Allyssa is just trying her best to keep up.

My Thoughts: I did not expect that. I did not expect that. Wow. And I really tried to expect it. I kept thinking to myself, this is the second book, you know things are probably going to go to shit. Prepare now, so you won’t get too emotionally invested. But invested I got, and cry I did. Because things got worse than I even imagined.

I’m not even sure what else to say about it all. I don’t want to give anything away. The characters and their developments are superb. The plot is engaging and interesting and every other synonym.

I dare say this book was better than the first, and I thought that would be pretty hard to do. Especially since it’s so different than the first.

Seriously, if you’ve read the first book, what are you waiting for? Go read this book. Right now.
